Taking Bear for a Walk

A while back our lovely friend, Kristin, sent Ana the most adorable home-made teddy bear. Ana loves it and plays with it every day. Here is a video, taken tonight, of a typical day playing with her friend, Bear:

Kristin is the most crafty, creative person I know. So much so, in fact, that she has her very own store, Something Sweet and Sassy, where she sells her creations. Go on, show her some love…then you could have a Bed Buddy just like Ana.

ATV Ana

A week ago I picked up an adorable little ATV for Ana. Based on her play date with Michael a month back, I knew she would love it. At the garage sale she kept walking over to climb up and sit on the tiny seat and I knew I couldn’t leave without it. I’d have to say it was the best $15 I ever spent. See for yourself:

My Future Film Maker

This evening Ana was playing with Simeon’s phone and much to our amazement, managed to make a little video. Sure the style is a little “Blair Witch” but I’d say it’s quite impressive for a first try. See for yourself:

Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’

That’s right! Ana rolled over for the very first time today. For the longest time she was perfectly content to just lay wherever I put her. The closest she got to trying to move at all was to slowly rotate in a circle. I would set her down and after awhile she would be 180 degrees from where she started, yet some how I never noticed her moving. Until now. Ana rolled over several times today (so it wasn’t just a fluke) and I managed to catch one of them on video…just ignore the enthusiastic mama talking throughout the clip. What can I say, I was excited!

Talking With Ana III

I would like to introduce you all to the newest member of our household: The Shriek. Ana just started making this lovely noise in the last couple days. Sim thinks it sounds like a pterodactyl, but I think it’s more like that scene in Splash where Daryl Hannah says her mermaid name and all the TVs explode. In the clip there are several moments where it seems like she is quiet, however she is still screeching but she has just reached a pitch only dogs can hear. The downside of practicing her new sound is the more she does it, the more she starts to sound like someone who has been smokin’ a pack a day for the last 20 years. Go hear for yourself…just know you have been warned:

Talking With Ana II

A year ago today, on Good Friday, Simeon and I found out we were expecting. To celebrate the day that changed my world, I wanted to share another video clip of my chatty little daughter. I can tell Ana is up in the morning because of the steady stream of squeaks, squeals, and coos coming from her room. She is happy to entertain herself, just talking away until I come to pick her up (I tend to use this time to gather my breakfast, a cup of coffee and the phone–once I start feeding, I am not able to get up for quite awhile). Yesterday on my way to get her, I grabbed the video camera to share the moment with you. As you will see on the clip, she gets a little camera shy but quickly realizes her Mama is back there and the excitement takes over. See for yourself:

Yep, those are the sounds I wake up to each morning. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
