TGIF

I am so tired this week. My brain does not want to function. I just drained my grande white chocolate mocha and am patiently waiting for that to kick in. It may be awhile. I slept like crap last night. I seriously laid in bed for like an hour listening to Simeon and Ellie alternate snoring when I finally decided to get up and read some blogs. I did that for another hour then went back to bed and tried to fall asleep. What felt like moments later, I was awoken by a lovely thunder and lightening storm at 4 am. (Now normally I am all over lightening storms. Love ’em. But not at 4 am! Come on, now!) So when my alarm went off at 6:30 I told Simeon that he was getting up first and I was gonna try to sleep some more and just get in to work a little late.

And here I am…..Still waiting on that mocha to kick in….

So my agenda for the weekend is to rest up as much as possible. I may even hit the Tylenol PM tonight to knock me out. My shoulders have really been bothering me at night and I think that has a lot to do with the lack of sleep also. Urgh. But Simeon and I are not ready to drop a couple thousand dollars on a new mattress, so I will bite my tongue for now. I was thinking about those mattress toppers, the memory foam ones. For like $70 its like a new mattress, right? Has any one tried them? Or have any advice? I am dying over here people….

Oh and since I am all over the place here and asking for advice. I am also in dire need of an area rug to go under our dining room table. Any one know of a place to get a decent looking one, reasonably priced, that is at least 8×8? I have had a really hard time locating one that is so big. Most of them are 5×7 and then the chair legs will be off of the rug, and that just will not do. I have looked at Linens N Things, Burlington Coat Factory, Target, Fred Meyer, and Mervyn’s. The closest thing I have found is an 8×10 at Tuesday Mornings for $199. But its just a really plain beige rug. I think I want something, if I am gonna be spending lots of money on it, that is glamorous. Makes a statement. Shows my personality. Am I asking too much for a rug??? This afternoon I am going to look at Meier & Frank, Ross, and a few other places. But any recommendations you all have would be great. Fire away!!

(PS I am still waiting for you slackers to finish reading HP6 so I can talk it over some more. Kiki is the only one sustaining me over here! Thanks, sweetie!!)

  1. Yeah, Costco is good for a rug. I’ve found good ones at Ross before as well. I’m so sorry about the sleeping thing. I’ve gotta say that Nyquil works for me every time. : )

We got our bed from Sleep Country and ended up spending $1,200, much more than the money I had set aside for their "$99 mattress event." But you just can’t put a price on good sleep.

  2. Sorry you’re not sleeping well. Make sure the mattress you get comes with a money back guaranty (my sister USED the guaranty, changed mattresses, and is now happy). After a few nights it may NOT be the one and I’d hate to have you stuck with it. I’ve not tried the toppers but have been tempted. I don’t think they come with a guaranty….

Try Costco for an area rug. They sometimes have them.

    HP6?? What’s that, prescioussss? ;o)
